Why Imani?

I tutor for "Imani for Youth" because children are the future and if you want to reshape and contribute to society we have to support the kids. I also love how creative and hardworking children are, they're inspiring. I volunteer for Imani Clinic because they value community and service and those are two things very important to me.

I am a part of the Imani for Youth team because I know how important mentorship is for future success. I have had so many impactful mentors in my life that have given me the resources and confidence I need to be successful in what I desire to do, and I would like to do the same for others.

Tip for a Younger You:

Failure is not the end all be all. What you learn from those failures is often more valuable than what you gain from success. So be confident and try everything even if you are afraid to fail.

I don't know where I'd be today without my mentors. Navigating life can be an emotional and stressful rollercoaster at times, so I want to be there for the youth experiencing the same things I did and give back to the community that was there to help me.

Why Imani?

I tutor for Imani For Youth because I know how hard it is to study and work towards a goal without the proper guidance or resources. I had many wonderful people help me get to college and hope to pay it forward by helping others do the same.

I believe that education is one of, if not the most, important facet of socioeconomic mobility and success. I am passionate about helping youth find and accomplish goals and helping them navigate this crazy world with their own curiosity compass.

I tutor for Imani for Youth because I am extremely passionate about teaching and helping underserved communities. Imani for Youth has given me the opportunity to share my passion for learning with students in the Oak Park Community, and help to decrease the socio-economic gap in access to educational resources.
